How to find a doctor to get signs of stroke checked out?

There is no such thing as a "stroke" doctor. You want to see a neurologist. The safest thing to do is to just go to the ER if you think you may be having a stroke. They can diagnose and treat you quickly, and swift treatment of stroke is the only way to promote good recovery. There are several things you can test yourself. Look into a mirror. Raise your eyebrows, and then lower them. Smile and then frown. Stick your tongue straight out and then move side to side. If all are normal, and equally reactive then you probably are not having a stroke. Raise your arms over your head and close your eyes. If they stay in the same place, you are probably fine. If one arm drifts... go to the ER.
